“Oh really?” Victoria replied, sounding quite amused. She didn’t miss the sarcasm in Sulli’s response and wasn’t going to dismiss it. Just because she was the older one didn’t mean she had to act “mature” towards Sulli’s tone. It was clear the younger had something against Victoria, and that bewildered her. They were the best of friends. Sometimes, after tutoring, she would even take her out to eat and hang out in the park.

Victoria bit down on her lip and played around with her coffee, watching it swirl around in the cup. “Sighing to herself, she felt she couldn’t take the weight on her shoulders anymore. ”What is it? Something’s bothering you, isn’t it?” she asked with concerned eyes.

“You’re bothering me.” Sulli snapped. She stormed out of the cafeteria and into the hallway beyond. All she needed was a little time to get herself together. She figured that she would be wasting her time if she called Victoria out on the subject. She didn’t remember it anyways. Sulli had hated the way that Victoria looked at her. As if she was still a little girl or something! Ugh, I can’t stand her. Sulli complained in her silent thoughts.

” Same old same old, just trying to keep going. ” Jinki chuckled, it had been a while and it seemed that maybe Sulli had changed a little, at least she hadn’t pushed him away when he helped her into the building. ” How come I haven’t seen you around?” Sure Palms was big, but it was hard to miss people you knew in the halls.

Sulli laughed at Jinki’s comment. She too was trying to keep going. Life wasn’t actually being very kind to her. She sensed that Jinki realized the change in her. She didn’t push him away like before. “I don’t know. Maybe we just don’t have any classes together?” she asked, wondering why she hadn’t seen him earlier. It would of made things in her life far more interesting.

Kibum walked at a quick pace heading back to his dorm. He didn’t want to stay any longer where he was. He knew if he did the memories would all come flashing back. He hated how he let the memories get the better of him. He had told himself to forget it and live on but he never could. The nightmares he had were just to bad for him to manage.

Hearing his name he stopped and turned around. Seeing that it was Jinri he wanted to turn on his heel and leave. but his feet were glued to the ground. His walls were up and his eyes and expression was cold as ever. “What do you want?”

Sulli almost bumped into Kibum’s back when she stopped running. He had put up his “walls”, that much she could tell. She knew when he was being defensive and when he was not. Sulli sighed, all the words knocked out of her at once. “I… I just… y’know what? I don’t even know.” she told him. Sulli just shook her head and walked away, intending to go back to her dorm and take a nice, hot bath. Besides, she really needed it.

Jinki’s lip’s flew up in a smile at the younger’s response. it’d been a while since he’d seen her and she had obviously grown up from the bratty kid she used to be, always pushing him around and telling him to go away. Course Jinki was too stubborn (or as some say too nice) to acknowledge that she didn’t like him, it was how their whole relationship worked till Jinki bravely pulled off some bullies away from sulli, since then they had a mutual friendship, there was no hey lets be friends just a silent acknowledgement of the other, they stayed close till the end of highschool when Jinki left for palms. Who knew fate would bring them back together. ” How have you been?”

Sulli smiled. Jinki looked like he had grown up, much like she had. She wondered if he still remembered how it was when they were young and he helped her through a lot of things even though she was rude in return. The memory of when he saved her from getting beat up by a bunch of bullies made her thankful for him once more. “I’ve been okay. Could be better but I won’t complain. How about you? I can’t believe you’re here!” she replied.

Victoria sat down and awkwardly sipped on her drink. Things have changed so much. To be honest, Victoria could feel herself getting a bit mad. She knew Sulli was always like this. Stubborn and cold. But when she tutored her, that side of Sulli wasn’t there. She was a bright and cheerful person, and always tried hard despite her troubles with school. Why was it so different now?

Victoria….couldn’t have done anything wrong, could she? Was it something she said earlier, or even the way she said something? Victoria cooled down her thoughts, because of course, curiosity kills the cat.

“So…. has everything been going well?” she said, trying to start up a conversation.

It took all of Sulli’s strength not to give Victoria a hateful glare. She wanted to shoot her. How could she just sit there and act like there was nothing wrong? How could she just act like she hadn’t taken away the one person that she loved? How? Sulli felt like she was on the brink of tears. But aside from that feeling, she had a feeling of pure anger. She wanted to gauge Victoria’s eyeballs out.

People had told her that holding grudges wasn’t good but Sulli didn’t care. She had always been the type to hold them and she wouldn’t stopped until it killed her. She smirked at Victoria’s question.

“Yeah. Everything’s been peachy.” She pushed the straw in her drink around and looked up at Victoria through her long eyelashes, wanting to burn lasers through her eyes.

Kibum reached his dorm and sat down. He took out his wallet which was surprisingly on the floor for some reason. Taking out the wallet he realized it wasn’t his, and it belong to someone with a similar wallet. Opening the wallet he wished he hadn’t seen it and picked it up. It was hers. He didn’t want to see her, so he decided to head back to the cafe and drop down the wallet. She was long gone, Kibum would simply drop down the wallet and leave. If she wasn’t smart enough to go back to the cafe that would be her problem.

Arriving at the cafe, he decided to get another coffee and drop off the wallet then. Reaching the front of the line quickly, he ordred his coffee and paid. Taking out her wallet, he gave it to one of the waiters, only to be pointed towards a table. Kibums eyes widened in shock, didn’t she leave already? Wrinkling his nose he walked over silently placing the wallet on her table before turning on his heel to leave.

Sulli was peacefully sitting down, staring at her phone when Kibum walked into the cafe again. What did he want? Why was he back? He went up to the counter and order another coffee. He started talking to a waiter and the waiter pointed over at Sulli. Kibum then had a look of disbelief on his face before walked over to her table, putting the wallet down, and quickly walking away. She was tired of avoiding him, of not talking, and most of all, she was angry that she hadn’t told him the truth before.

She shoved her phone into her pocket and left her food on the table. Sulli ran as fast as she could. “Kibum! Wait!” she shouted while running after his retreating figure.

Jinki led the girl into the school, the raging wind was reeking havoc around the school, squealing girls ran into the safety of the building’s walls, quickly fixing their hair and rather skimpy skirts. fixing his bangs and pulling his hair back into the ponytail. ” Are you ok?” He turned to the girl, his eyes widening slightly, as he tilted his head to get a better look at the younger. “sulli..-shii?”

Sulli had started fixing her hair and pressing down her skirt, which she felt was too short, when the guy said her name. Obviously, Sulli was very startled by his sudden speaking. How did he know her? She couldn’t even recognize him. “Uhm… how do you know my name?” she asked. It soon came to her though. He was Jinki, her friend from middle school! She mentally facepalmed herself for not remembering. Sulli’s facial expression went from sort of frightened to happy in the matter of seconds. “OH MY GOODNESS! JINKI! Hi!” she shouted.

Taking another sip of his coffee, he looked back up to find Sulli gone. Taking a breath he relaxed in his seat and finished his coffee ordering another one. The memories had come back and Kibum was feeling a headache. He didn’t what had happened over a year ago.

As the coffee arrived he took it all down in one go. The bitter taste lingering in his mouth. What was she doing here? The question kept on repeating on and on in his head. Drinking his third coffee of the day, Kibum got up gathered all his things making sure not to leave anything and made his way back to his dorm.

Sulli was almost all the way home when she realized that she dropped her wallet in the cafe. She stomped her foot down and practically ran back to the shop, hoping that he wasn’t still there.

It took Sulli about 20 minutes to get back and by that time, Kibum was already gone. When she reached the cafe, her wallet wasn’t on the floor so she had to ask several members of the staff if they had seen it. Finally someone mentioned that he had found it.

She sat down, the happiness taking her over. She didn’t have to see him. At least not for today. Sulli pulled out her doughnut and the coffee and started to eat, watching out of the window as people passed by, following their daily routines.

Hanging Out | Sulli & Bomi

Sulli tapped the heels of her shoes on the floor of the cafe that she and Bomi had agreed to meet at. She couldn’t wait to talk to Bomi about her life and the things that she had been going through. She had a lot to say and all she really needed was somebody to explain her thoughts to. She sat down at a table and waited for Bomi to walk through the dark wood door of the cafe.

Soon she grew bored and pulled her book out of her bag. She started to read a chapter ahead of where she really was in the book since it was what she usually did. Sulli had her head in the book when Bomi walked in and greeted her.

Kibum bit his lip what to do. He couldn’t sit here, she would eventually notice him. He would have to leave. Yes he had to leave before she noticed him. Quickly gathering his things, he made his way outside the cafe.

Outside he realized he forgot to his phone. Biting his lip again he quickly made his way back inside to grab his phone. The cafe was a bit more crowded then before. He had some trouble making his way back towards the table. He looked around, there were people all around, so maybe he could just stay and be un noticed by her. Sitting back down in his regular seat, he relaxed to his phone still there. He sipped at his coffee and pretended like nothing had happened. Maybe just this once luck would be on his side and he wouldn’t have to face her again. Scanning the cafe, his eyes landed on someone else’s. Breaking the eye contact, it was her. The pair of eyes he had looked into belonged to someone he hated and never wanted to see again. Regretting his decision of sitting back down, he simply looked away and drank his coffee.

Sulli took a deep breath, said thank you for her food, and walked out of the cafe. She had caught Kibum’s gaze again and it made her nervous, not knowing what to do. She kept her head down while walking out of the store, not wanting him to look at her again. Sulli was rarely uncomfortable but right now she felt like she was outside in her underwear or something, for everyone to see.

When she finally made it out of the cafe and out into the cool air, she sighed and pulled out her doughnut. For Sulli, it was her reward. She only looked back once as she walked away from the shop, her wedges clicking with every step.

Kibum sat in his favourite spot in the little crowded coffee shop sipping his coffee. It was the weekend and he had no plans. Enjoying his quiet little day, he smiled into his cup of coffee. It was just right. The setting was right. Everyone was busy doing their own things. Catching up on homework, chatting with a few friends, or just like him sitting in a quiet little corner observing everyone else. He had done this often ever since him and his family moved. He thought back to what would have happened if they didn’t. How his life would be. He was glad he had gotten rid of all the fake people in his life. His mind started to wander to her. He wondered how she was doing. He snorted in disgust, he hoped that she died in a fire. HIs mind started to drift off as the little coffee shop went about with their daily activities. He smiled to himself thinking of everyone that he had met. He never wanted to see those people ever again. They disgusted him. But he had jinxed himself, for when he snapped back into reality, his eyes automatically focused in on a figure that he knew all too well. A figure he had wished and prayed that he would never see again.

Sulli waltzed up to the counter and asked if she could get some coffee and a donut. She needed the sugar because for some reason, she was feeling low on energy. She paid for her food and leaned against the counter, waiting for her energy in a bag. Sulli tapped her manicured fingers on the hard surface of the counter, trying to give herself something to do. She was never good at waiting for things. She looked around and took in the atmosphere of the coffee shop. Then her eyes landed on him.

Sulli hadn’t seen him in years and she wasn’t sure if she wanted to see him now. She knew that he hated her the way that she hated spiders. Please don’t let him see me… she prayed quietly inside of her own mind. She turned back to the counter and gripped the edge of it, hoping that she’d be able to take her food and dash out of the shop without Kibum noticing her.

Did the gods just not like jinki today? why was it that every time he had something to do the weather took a turn for the worse and attacked him with rain, snow, wind, or all of the above? today was a windy day. his hair flipped and attacked at his face as he tried to make his way back to the school, his body was being pushed around and it was making his balance worse than it already was. great.

he heard a small squeal to his left, looking up to see who the victim was, he noticed a familiar brunet fighting with the same wind. why was she so familiar? he walked her way with much difficulty using his body to try and block some of the wind from the smaller girl. “you ok?” he asked taking her forearm and helping her towards the school, the wind stealing her surprised gasp and gleeful squeal.

Sulli wanted to turn into superwoman and kick the wind in the arse. But of course that wasn’t going to happen anytime soon. She was to busy having her own struggle with the wind to look over at the other students. Her hair was flipping in all directions and some of it was going into her mouth. Suddenly Sulli felt someone take her forearm and start guiding her towards the school building. She hadn’t looked up at the person yet since she was still battling with the wind.

She could barely make out what he was saying since the wind distorted things. “I’m … Well I’ll live.” She said. Sulli didn’t know what to say since she wasn’t good and she wasn’t bad.

She giggled, and smiling at her genuinely for the first time in years. Her eyes disappearing into two crescent moons like they always do. “I go to Hidden Palms, that’s why I’m here.” She said, laughing airily as she pulled away from the girl, surveying her closely. She’s grown, that’s for sure. When they were younger Sulli was a good head shorter than she was, having gone through her growth spurt first, but in their later years together, she noticed how fast she was catching up to her. But now, it is the first time SuJi has to actually look up at her in order to look at her face. His devilishly gorgeous looks stayed the same, and so did her small beady eyes.

“I’m so glad you’re here~” She said, laughing again, grabbing each of her arms. “You look mature now..are you?” She stuck her tongue out at her, completely overjoyed of seeing her again. “My god, you’ve grown.” she continued, transfixed at her transformation. “And more beautiful.” She said, scrunching her nose up at her. “I’m jealous of your good looks.” She scoffed playfully, smiling all the while.

It was the first time that Sulli had smiled a real, genuine smile in months. “But Suzy, you’re beautiful too!” she told her friend. Sulli remembered how life was when they were little and Suzy was taller than her. Suzy had mentioned how Sulli had grown from that time and now. Back then, Sulli never thought that she would grow. She always had the notion that Suzy would be a giant and she would always be the small sidekick but now Suzy had to look up at her to talk to her.

“I guess I’m somewhat mature now…” Sulli had forgotten to answer Suzy’s question since she was daydreaming about the past.

The walk to the cafeteria was uncomfortable as she noticed Sulli keeping a distance from her. It seemed as though she was upset at Victoria. But why? After meeting each other again, she’d think they’d be linking arms with each other and making jokes like old times. But why was Sulli acting like this to Victoria?

When they arrived at the small cafe, Victoria quickened her steps to get ahead of Sulli and halted her. “I’ll pay. It’ll be my treat.” Victoria said and took a 20 out from her pocket. Sulli gave a small smile, but it didn’t look very sincere. Victoria smiled back and eyed the ground. “So, what would you like to drink? Tell me so I can order while you look for a table, neh?”

Sulli could only smile a bit when Victoria offered to pay for her. It was a kind thing for her to do but Sulli didn’t accept Victoria’s kindness since she was still bitter about Taehoon. “I’d like to drink some coca cola.” she told her. Sulli looked for an empty table and sat down at it. She laid her head down on the cool surface and tried to think straight.

How could Victoria forget about what happened? The whole ordeal had messed up her life a lot. She had thought that life couldn’t get any better but then Taehoon broke up with her and life went downhill after that. Victoria came back with the coca cola and other food. Sulli tried very hard to actually smile but it didn’t come out sincerely.

Victoria was surprised at Sulli’s tone. It sounded so…. sarcastic. As if she just said it to get it over with. Victoria shook off her thoughts and casually smiled at Sulli. “I’m doing fine. How have you been doing though? Have those lessons finally been paying off?” she joked and laughed. Victoria awkwardly stopped laughing mid way when she saw Sulli with a blank expression on her face.

” Hey, I’m heading to the cafeteria. Wanna grab a coffee and catch up on things?” she asked Sulli. It’s been such a long time since she last talked to Sulli, and she wasn’t sure when they stopped, but she was glad they ran into each other again. Especially since they were even attending the same university. But Sulli seemed a bit….distant from Victoria. She couldn’t figure out why, but she decided to not fret and wanted to get to know what Sulli has been up to.

Sulli gave Victoria a blank look when she mentioned the tutoring lessons. Had she actually forgotten all that happened or was she just doing that to mock Sulli? She couldn’t believe that she was doing this. After hurting her so much she still had the nerve to bring it up like it was just fine? “Uhm… okay…” Sulli had just said yes to get it over with. If she said no then she wouldn’t be able to find out if she still remembered what happened. She wouldn’t know what was going on in Victoria’s life. She couldn’t let that happen. Sulli frowned and started walking. She took the lead and let Victoria follow her. If only it had been that way when she had been her tutor. If only…
